Release notes
A native iPad & iPhone experience (iOS, iPadOS)
Caffeinated Notes now feels at home on Apple devices. iPad gets a native two-column layout with a slide-out folders sidebar, and menus, pickers, and the ••• More button are proper pull-downs. New notes open inline instead of taking over the screen. On iPhone, the editor and Settings pick up native styling, including a system paste button in the editor.
Side navigation on Android tablets (Android)
Android tablets get a navigation rail with a collapsible note list, so you can tuck the list away for a distraction-free editor. A cloud icon in the rail shows your sync status at a glance.
More reliable backups & sync (Desktop, iOS, iPadOS, Android)
- Restoring a backup into an account with sync turned on no longer risks losing or duplicating your notes, notebooks, and attachments.
- Exporting a backup no longer freezes on large libraries, and you can now save it to any location you choose.
Desktop refinements (Desktop)
The note window is calmer: the sync status no longer flashes during background sync, the note list stays put instead of jumping when notes sync in, and a clear cloud icon shows whether you’re synced. The duplicate word count in the note header is gone.
Bug fixes (iOS, iPadOS, Android)
- Fixed crashes that could happen while typing in the editor.
- Editing one of the sample notes now turns it into your own note, so it syncs and its cloud indicator clears.
